We have a passionate view regarding finance in business: if your organisation is trying to make profits and control costs, your managers should be familiar with the language, conventions, reports, information and techniques used in the world of finance. This module introduces the main principals of management accounting and financial accounting and will enable non-financial managers to acquire a working knowledge and an understanding of the key elements as they relate to business. We emphasise the ultimate purpose of finance and management accounting; to provide good information which helps good decision-making. A basic degree of numeracy is required for this module, although we concentrate on 'what should go where' - aside from that, the calculators do the work.
